Tell The Truth

about

This song is about telling the truth on the inside. I wrote it after I got real with myself and pulled myself out of an unhealthy relationship. It's our default mechanism to find any way possible to justify why we do the things we do. It's just "easier" to put it on someone or something else, but it never works in the long run. When we choose to Tell The Truth instead, the game changes. Truth: the world needs this right now.

lyrics

I'm sorry that it hurt so much
I'm sorry that it was my touch
That scarred your soul

Baby did I go to deep?
Did I make you weep
When I cut that hole

When did you change?
You were soft and sweet
Now you're black and blue, like me
Where did you go?
Were you lying all this time
With the child still inside?

Why don't you just tell the truth?
Why don't you just tell the truth?
Oh you were never gonna stay

I'm sorry that it hurt so much
I'm sorry that I choked you up
With all my pain

Guess you found someone new
to bandage up your wounds
but it's all the same

When will you change?
How long you gonna drain that well
Put it on someone else
When will you know,
You were lying all this time
With the child still inside?

Why don't you just tell the truth?
Why don't you just tell the truth?
Why don't you just tell the truth?
Oh you were never gonna stay
